The Sanctity of our Vote

I meet so many amazing people on a daily basis as I travel around the county.  I am excited to be able to give them a fresh new outlook on the direction the Sheriff’s Department can take.  As I meet new people I enjoy hearing all the wonderful ideas on how to help the department run more efficiently.  With all these ideas paired with my knowledge and experience I am confident we can mold the Sheriff’s Department into a department we can all be proud of.  I want to hear 

ideas and concerns from everyone, regardless of party affiliation.  
When it comes to party affiliation I have had several comments of support along with apologies from individuals I consider friends and good people.  Our bipartisan way of life can be confusing at times as many of my supporters have encountered what we call “hushed support”.  Many are unsure of how supporting someone outside their party will impact their place in the scheme of things.  Some assure us they are supporting us on Election Day, but can not openly support us during the campaign.  

I would like to say “Thank You” to all of my hushed supporters.  They have given me confidence and hope that we all still believe in the sanctity of our vote.  We still believe we can cast our vote privately, without fear of consequence for our beliefs.  I look forward to reminding as many people as possible that our vote is a sacred right, to be exercised with honor.  There is no requirement that you select your elected officials based on party affiliation.  If you get to the polls and find you know nothing about any candidate for a particular office, you are not required to cast a vote for that office.  Be a responsible voter and make an informed decision about your vote.

Mac Spainhour has the signatures needed for Nomination by petition for Election in 2014 in the Clark County Sheriff’s race.

The Spainhour for Sheriff Committee has collected well over 700 signatures, exceeding the 636 required before the June 30th deadline for Independent Candidates nominated by petition for Election. Once every signature has been verified by the campaign they will be submitted to the voter registration office along with his official Consent of Independent Candidate nominated by Petition.

There are different filing periods and requirements for Independent candidates than your
Republicans or Democrats. There is no primary election for the independent candidate in the Sheriff’s race. Spainhour will be on your General Election ballot on November 4, 2014.

Spainhour submitted his Statement of Organization several months ago and has been hard at work collecting signatures and raising money.
